THE FRENCH REVUE was born in 2009 while French born singers Marie-Hélène Berteau and Sylvie Renaud-Calmel paired up with Australian-Taiwanese pianist Katy Tsai to perform for the opening of the French Film Festival with a program of songs from the French movies.

Since then they have performed at The Basement, The Vanguard, Bar me, Berkelouw’s Wine Bar and recently at the Mosman Art Gallery in various programs combining French“chansons”, European cabaret and a new  approach to the classical repertoire.

To be expected from The French Revue are classics from French chansons  such as Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet and Yves Montand but they’ll also delight you with their fresh interpretation of the like of Josephine Baker and Marlene Dietrich and the best of songs from 60’s St Germain des Pres such as Boris Vian and Serge Gainsbourg.

With a particular flair from French music and a love of  intimate settings, along with pianist Katy Tsai they  deliver fun and refreshing high-quality performances  that appeal to both music lovers and dilettantes.
